Xavi vetoes Paul Pogba transfer – report

News and rumors continue to circulate after the meeting between Joan Laporta and super agent Mino Raiola surrounding potential transfers.

There is no doubt that the number 1 target for any club is Erling Haaland. The Borussia Dortmund striker is one of the most, if not the most, sought after players in the world.

However, other names are said to be on the table, such as Xavi Simmons, Nassir Mazraoui and Paul Pogba. The latest rumor concerns the Manchester United and France midfielder.

Specifically, Barcelona manager Xavi is said to object to Pogba’s move. It’s hard to judge whether Barcelona will sign Pogba regardless, but rumors have it that Xavi has made the move more difficult for it to pay off.

Raiola is said to have offered Pogba to the Catalan club, and this is not the first time. Pogba has been linked with a move to Catalonia several times in the past, with Laporta signing the midfielder, then playing for Juventus, one of the key elements in his failed 2015 attempt to secure the club’s presidency.

However, Xavi is said to be prioritizing a different type of midfielder to help rejuvenate Barcelona.
