Weight loss: Dr Michael Mosley shares easy tips to shed the pounds

Dr. Michael Mosley often shares his tips on losing weight with skinny people online as well as on TV. He created The Fast 800 – a diet plan that helps people lose weight fast.

In addition to following the Fast 800 Diet, Dr. Mosley shared other methods of weight loss for skinny people.

The Doctor has five easy steps to make it easier for novice dieters to start incorporating healthy choices into their lives.

One of these is increasing their protein intake.

This type of food is “really important” for various reasons, according to Dr. Mosley.

The doctor said, “It is really important to have the right amount of protein, which is 50 to 70 grams per day.

“You can get protein mainly from meat or fish, you can also get it from legumes, but you have to eat more, which is why Fast 800 on a vegan diet is much more challenging.

“We already have meal replacement drinks that are very high in protein, and we also aim to produce protein boosters to help people who might struggle with eating them otherwise.

“The reason for protein is that you need it for your muscles.

“You need it for all kinds of basic metabolic processes.

“And also because when you consume it, it gets digested slower by your body so you don’t get the same kind of peaks.”

Another simple tip is to avoid starting your weight loss journey on your own.

Dr Mosley continued: “There is a huge amount of research and evidence to support the idea that if you want to lose weight, it is really important to get the support of your friends, family or any other community more broadly.

“The temptation is to eat cheese and crackers late at night.

“While the idea that cheese will give you nightmares is a complete and utter myth, it’s clear that it’s going to be some sort of calorie-loading late-night.”

Intermittent fasting isn’t for everyone, but if dieters want to incorporate it into their lives, Dr. Mosley recommended “starting slowly.”

He said, “If you’re planning to try intermittent fasting, I usually recommend that you do it gradually.

“So start eating your food at 12 hours, fasting the rest of the time, and then move to a 10 hour period for eating.”

In conclusion, Dr. Mosley advised to “keep a healthy snack”.

He explained, “The best way to prevent hunger when intermittent fasting is to use something like a meal replacement shake.

Follow the Fast 800 program, as it has been carefully calibrated to ensure that it gives you maximum nutrients and maximum fiber and protein.

“The reason people get hungry is because they eat something very high in sugar or carbs, so they get a massive spike in their blood sugar levels and then they crash and then go hungry.”

The doctor added, “I find that if I eat something that has a lot of fiber and a lot of nutrients, I really don’t feel hungry at all.”
