Tristan Thompson has admitted to having an “on-off” and ongoing sexual relationship with Maralie Nichols, the woman who is suing him for child support and pregnancy-related fees after saying they conceived a child together.
In a court document that was filed and published earlier this month daily Mail, the NBA star – who has opposed paternity of the baby, born on December 1st – mentioned meeting Nichols in late November or early December 2020 at someone’s home.
At the time, he said he “was very careful” and “didn’t expect you could be between me and any kind of relationship.”
He also denied having sex with her in California around that time, claiming that the “only” possible date for conceiving the baby was March 13, 2021, Thompson’s birthday. Nichols said the baby was born in April, according to the document.

He wrote, “We did not have an ongoing serious relationship. We saw each other sporadically between December 2020 and March 13, 2021.” “[Nichols] She told me that she was involved with other athletes and understood the limits of our relationship; For intelligence, that we may see each other on an intermittent basis for only consensual sex.”
He later added, “We never had any dates in the traditional sense; there was no eating in restaurants, going to the movies, traveling, or any other indications of a normalization of the relationship.” “There were only Snapchats about ‘where’ and ‘what time’ we’d deliver and what hotels would be used.”
Thompson has denied sending Snapchat messages between him and Nichols that were made public via other court documents, claiming they were fabricated. He also said that they only communicated via Snapchat and that they “never exchanged[d] text messages. One of the purported messages Nichols referenced in her files said he would soon retire from his NBA career and therefore would not be able to pay major support, while another claimed Nichols had suggested an abortion.
During the time Thompson admitted to having an affair with Nichols, he was publicly dating Khloe Kardashian, with whom he shares a 3-year-old daughter. (He also has a son, Prince, 4, with ex-girlfriend Jordan Craig.)

On his birthday in March — the date he says it would have been pregnancy time if Nichols’ baby had been him — Kardashian posted a sweet greeting to her then-boyfriend, calling Thompson her “best friend.”
“The people who are meant to be are the ones who go through everything designed to tear them apart and come out stronger than they were before,” she wrote in part.
