Timbers announce schedule for 2022 MLS season

Portland, ore. Major League Soccer today revealed the 34-game full, 2022 regular season schedule for the Portland Timbers. In their 12th season in the NBA, the Timbers will host the New England Revolution to start the regular season on Saturday, February 26 in Providence Park.

In 2022, the Timbers will play 13 games on national television (7 at home and 6 away), including Portland’s season opener against 2021 Shield-winner New England on Fox. Both games between Portland and Cascadia rival Seattle will be shown on national television this regular season. The Timbers will face Seattle at Lumen Field (July 9, FOX) before hosting Sounders FC (August 26, ESPN) in Providence Park.

In addition, Portland will host Philadelphia for the first time since 2018 and Atlanta on their first visit to Providence Park since 2019.

The MLS regular season will start earlier than ever, starting on Saturday, February 26 and continuing through Resolution Day, the end of the regular season, on Sunday October 9. Three straight weeks of work leading up to the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Saturday 5 November, more than two weeks before the 2022 FIFA World Cup kicks off in Qatar on 21 November.
