A meta-analysis compared NAFLD risks for individuals who drank coffee and those who did not. She also compared the risks of developing cirrhosis, the excessive buildup of proteins that occurs in many liver diseases, between patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease who drank coffee and those who did not. The analysis showed a significantly reduced risk of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease among coffee drinkers, as well as a significantly decreased risk of cirrhosis among nonalcoholic fatty liver patients who were regular coffee drinkers.

N-acetyl cysteine, or NACAnd It is a precursor to the amino acid L-cysteine which acts as a powerful antioxidant.
