Make added sugar and simple carbs a regular part of your diet. “Results from research studies indicate that a diet that contains a lot of sugar or other refined carbohydrates can accelerate aging,” says the American Academy of Dermatology. When eaten in excess amounts, sugar binds to collagen and elastin, two types of proteins in our skin that make it look firm and youthful.
