Player Ratings: Genoa 0-3 AC Milan

Milan recovered from two consecutive league defeats with an important 3-0 away win over Genoa this evening. Junior Messias was the big two seat champ and you can take a look at the player ratings below.

Starting from the eleventh

Minyan (7.5): He made two high-quality saves to keep the nets clean for the Rossoneri this evening and it’s safe to say he avenged Sassuolo’s loss. Putting it back between the sticks is very good.

Kalolo (7): It was another good performance by the French player who was not afraid to go further when playing on the right. He was then taken to playmaker CB, where Gabia was knocked out in the second half, and he did, too.

Kjaer (not available): He was taken off the field with an injury after just five minutes and it looked so dangerous he was sent off the field. Most likely, he will miss the match against Liverpool next week which is a blow.

Tomori (7): He used his speed to win many duels and made an acrobatic statement to prevent Milan from conceding. Just as with Maignan, it is good to have the Englishman back at the center of defence.

Hernandez (7): He participated in the third goal, by sending the ball into the penalty area, and it was a good performance from him in general. He almost scored the goal himself in the last minutes after a great run inside the penalty area.

Tonali (6.5): He fought hard and got the ball back more than a few times, but he also made some mistakes. The performance wasn’t bad, by all accounts, but the truth is that Milan’s midfielders haven’t been tested much.

Casey (6.5): Just like his colleague, he did a good job and got the job done this evening. It wasn’t much more than that, which is why the rating wasn’t higher. But as said, they both did quite well to balance the game.

Christ (8- men): He’s certainly had a tough start to the season but the situation has completely changed, after the two-goal goal against Atletico tonight. He was compact and nimble on the ball, which made things very difficult for the Saelemaekers.

Diaz (6.5): There were a few occasions he was outflanked, but he also faced some fine kicks in the penalty area, despite his lack of finishing touch. However, he was not lacking when he made Messias’ second goal.

Chronic (6.5): Its importance is clearly tactical and not what it adds to the attack. He was involved in both Messias’ goals, though, and opened up space for Theo with a nice heel flick in the second.

Ibrahimovic (7.5): It dropped a lot which was, at times, frustrating but most of the time it worked like a charm. He opened the scoring with this fantastic free kick and was very important in attack this evening.

alternatives

cage (6.5): He came to replace Kjaer and did a good job in the back, even though he was booked. Surprisingly enough, he was taken off at halftime, possibly due to booking.

Florenzi (6): We didn’t see much of him but he was very safe in his passing and he added balance to the team.

Pellegri (6): He worked hard and added some pressure to the attack when he came. No big chances, save for Theo’s in the last minutes which almost landed at his feet.

Saelemaekers (N/A): He didn’t play enough to get a rating.

Bakayoko (unavailable): He didn’t play enough to get a rating.
