  • Paris Hilton and Carter Riom married on November 11.

  • They wanted a wedding without sound and asked the guests to give up their devices when they arrived.

  • Their wedding planner said getting people’s phones was one of the hardest parts of the wedding.

Paris Hilton got married last month saying “I do” to Carter Riom on November 11 at her ex-grandfather’s house.

The couple, 40, planned a three-day wedding celebration that included everything from a carnival party to the shows of her famous friends, including Demi Lovato.

The huge celebration presented several logistical challenges, as the planning team began preparations a week ago, the couple’s planner, Mindy Weiss, told Insider.

But Weiss said one of the hardest aspects of the wedding day came from a surprising source: the guests’ phones.

Weiss told Insider Hilton and Reum they wanted a phone-free wedding, in part to ensure that guests didn’t take pictures of the event.

But many guests didn’t want to give up their phones.

She said she doesn’t think guests want to take or post photos from the event but just don’t want to be disconnected from their devices.

“When they say, ‘We’re not going to take pictures,’ we know,” Weiss said. “But the bride and groom wanted her together.”

Weiss said creating a seating layout for the Hilton and Rome wedding was also a challenge, in part because many of their guests were famous.

The event was attended by stars such as Kim Kardashian West, Kate Beckinsale and Jaden Smith. Weiss had to figure out where not only the stars but everyone else in Hilton and Rom’s life were sitting.

For example, Hilton’s parents, Cathy and Richard Hilton, had family friends attending the event, who Weiss also had to seat.

Cathy Hilton said on “Paris in Love,” a peacock documentary about the Hilton wedding planning process, that she plans to invite 75 of her friends to her daughter’s wedding.

While there were challenges, Weiss said the wedding was a success — and that Paris Hilton was a “sweet” bride.

“She’s very nice,” Weiss said. “She is a very nice person.”
