Milan will face Sassuolo tomorrow afternoon, and now the latest report on a potential line-up has arrived. In theory, Stefano Pioli will make six changes total for the win over Atletico Madrid midweek.
Due to the tight schedule, a few changes were expected in the eleventh start but perhaps not six of them. One has to do with the fact that Mike Minnian is back and ready to go, having noticeably recovered from his wrist surgery.
According to MilanNews, Alessandro Florenzi will replace Pierre Calolo at right-back. It’s a bit surprising because the latter has been doing really well lately, but the Italian has faced Atleti and seems to have impressed Pioli enough.
In midfield, Timoui Bakoyoko and Ismael Bennacer will form the tandem, giving Frank Kessey and Sandro Tonali some much-needed relief. This will be Bakayoko’s first start to the season, which is always something special.
In the offensive trio, Rafael Liao will return after getting the much-needed break midweek. Zlatan Ibrahimovic came off the bench in that match but will play from the first minute tomorrow with Olivier Giroud injured.
Milan is likely to be the eleventh (4-2-3-1): Megan. Florenzi, Chiar; Romagnoli, Hernandez; Bakayoko, Bennacer; Saelemaekers, Diaz, Liao; Ibrahimovic.
