To better align with the 2022 international football calendar, the MLS regular season will begin earlier than ever, beginning on Saturday, February 26 and running through Resolution Day, the end of the regular season, on Sunday October 9. Audi 2022 MLS Cup qualifiers follow directly the regular season, with three consecutive weeks of excitement leading up to the MLS Cup 2022 on Saturday, November 5, more than two weeks before the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar on November 21.

The broadcast schedule for the 2022 MLS regular season features the largest network coverage in league history. The record 48 games will be broadcast on network television via ABC, FOX, Univision and UniMás. The MLS game will be broadcast on ABC nine times in 2022 with a total of 34 games broadcast on ABC, ESPN and ESPN2, all of which will also be available in Spanish on ESPN Deportes. FOX Sports will be showing 34 games next year, most notably 27 games on FS1 and seven on FOX, with twice the number of prime-time windows as the 2021 roster of network games. In addition, all 34 games will be broadcast in Spanish on FOX Deportes. 32 matches will be broadcasted in Spanish via Univision and UniMás

In addition, ESPN+ will broadcast all regional broadcasts nationally, and out of market, in the United States, and any nationally televised matches not broadcast by an English-language network will again be broadcast live in English on Twitter.
