Kirk and Ann Douglas’ long-lived home is on sale for $7.5 million.
The four-bedroom, six-bathroom Beverly Hills estate was purchased by Hollywood Legends in 1976 for $400,000.
Rochelle Altas-Mays of Normand & Co., which represents the list, told Mansion Global that the two lived in the house until their deaths. Kirk passed away in 2020 at the age of 103, and Anne died this year at the age of 102. The couple had been married for more than 65 years.
Relatively unpretentious, the estate is set on just over a third of an acre surrounded by mature trees and gardens.
The property includes a one-story main house of 4,648 square feet and a two-story guest house.
Perhaps the home’s most eye-catching feature is the backyard Walk of Fame, which Mays called “iconic and special.”
“They had so much fun, and I was told that Kirk would sign people on cement floors at dinner parties,” Mays revealed. There are 22 stones – some of which were from their previous possessions. It’s like the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Grauman’s Chinese Theater on steroids.”
The stars include Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Ronald Reagan, Lucille Ball, Elizabeth Taylor and Barbra Streisand.
Other features of the home include butler storage that opens onto a gourmet kitchen, breakfast bar, and en-suite bedrooms.
The listing states that the large sliding glass doors “create a seamless interior/exterior feel.” Outdoors there is a resort-style pool and spa.
“I priced it at the value of the land,” Mays said. “And there is nothing remarkable in Beverly Hills that sells for less than $9 million. We are accepting offers starting Monday, expecting to have 15 or more and to sell for a huge asking price.”
Douglas has starred in more than 90 films during his career, and was awarded the Academy Honorary Award for Lifetime Achievement in 1996.
For his charitable work, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom under President Jimmy Carter in 1981.
