Josh Duggar guilty verdict: Jim Pope, Michelle Duggar and family react to conviction in child pornography content trial

“We are saddened by the shame this has brought on the name of Christ. Josh claims to be a Christian,” the statement continued. “When a recognized follower of Jesus is revealed to be a hypocrite, the reaction of many will be to challenge the integrity of Jesus himself. They will question the legitimacy of the Savior who secretly delights his so-called followers with the sins they publicly denounce. That is why the apostle Paul told religious hypocrites that “God’s name He is blasphemed among the nations because of you” (Romans 2:24). As for Josh, we fear for himself.”

The couple went on to thank God for “exposing” Josh’s actions.

“We thank God for revealing Josh’s actions and the legal system committed to protecting the innocent and punishing the guilty in this case,” the statement read. “We are grateful for justice. We pray for more justice, justification, protection, and healing for all who have been wronged.”

Josh’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, also spoke up, choosing to post their statement on their website.

“This whole ordeal has been so painful,” they said. “Today, God’s grace has supported us, through the love and prayers of so many. Our hearts and prayers are with anyone who has been hurt through CSAM. [Child Sexual Abuse Material]. “

“In the coming days, we will do our best to surround our son-in-law [Josh’s wife] The duo continued, “Anna and their children with love and support.” As parents, we will never stop praying for and love Joshua, as we all do our children. In every situation of life, we place our trust in God. It is our strength and our refuge. Thank you for your prayers.”
