I’m a huge fan of mimosa, and I’m not just for brunch. It’s an easy and always delicious cocktail, but I’ve learned several ways to upgrade it by following recipes from Bobby Flay, Pat, Gina Neely, Alex Guarnacelli, and Rachel Ray.

The Flay recipe includes fresh mango, fresh orange juice, Prosecco, and pomegranate liqueur, all combined well for a fruity drink.

The recipe from Neelys was refreshing and included pineapple juice and blood orange, plus a colorful sugar rim.

Mimosa Guarnaschelli is also inspired by the French 75 cocktail. By adding gin, this mimosa is a little stronger. I liked the edge of this one too – it had both sugar and orange zest.

I will also be making mimosa rays in the future. Her recipe is simple and classic, just orange juice, dry champagne, and orange liqueur, plus orange peel for garnish.
