‘Horrible’ – Son Heung-min makes Liverpool claim ahead of Tottenham Hotspur clash

Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min has hailed Liverpool as one of his favorite teams to watch ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash.

Tottenham welcomes Liverpool to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for what appears to be one of only four league matches to be played this weekend.

Tottenham are currently seventh with 25 points but have played three games less than all but one team above them due to Covid-19.

Spurs haven’t caught on yet since Antonio Conte’s arrival as coach, but Son wants his teammates to make it as difficult as possible for Liverpool, who he admits he admires very much.

“Liverpool are a really strong team and when I watch their matches I really enjoy it because the way they play is really fun to watch as a football fan,” the South Korea international said in an interview with Sky Sports.

“So it’s going to be a huge game, huge and that means something to us as well.

“I don’t want them to think that they can come here and get three points easily. I don’t want to give them three easy points.

“I want to take the three points from them because it’s our home.

“I want to make it a horrible Sunday afternoon… ‘Come to London, it’s going to be a really tough game’… That’s our goal.”

The future of Harry Kane, Son’s attacking partner, was up in the air in the summer.

Manchester City had a lot of interest but the England captain remained in the end.

Kane has scored just one goal in the Premier League this season, but Son says the goals will come.

“Watching Harry is so much fun and playing together is a dream,” Son added.

“Obviously he hasn’t scored as many goals as last season but the way he plays for the team is good, and the goal will come.

“As a striker when you go through a period like this, the ball is moving all over the place, you have a chance, the defender makes contact, and you miss the ball.

“These are the things that are happening to H at the moment. The goal will come and we believe in his quality and as teammates we want to help him get back to the goals.”
