Researchers have long sought to uncover the biological mechanisms that underlie the graying process. Graying is known to be the end result of a lack of melanocytes that give hair its color. However, the reason for this fall remains somewhat mysterious. But some evidence suggests that the process can be delayed, and in some cases even reversible.
