GRAHAM: The Year In Liberal Celebrity Freakouts

Despite President Joe Biden’s inauguration victory, liberal celebrities couldn’t be happier in 2021.

It all started with Donald Trump’s refusal to admit he had lost the presidential election. A year ago, an actor engaged in violent fantasies due to this stubborn resistance to facts. Who will arrest Trump if he refuses to concede? Who is dragging him? pepper spray? handcuffs? This looks like an action movie.

But then it turned threatening: “A knee on his neck is cutting off his oxygen? Is he whistling ‘I can’t breathe’ (?) Rodney King style? The serial killer who destroyed the country. What’s he worth?”

Which actor wanted to choke and beat Trump meaninglessly? Why, Alec Baldwin, the episodic movie set killer. This is the same Hollywood daredevil who imagined killing Dick Cheney with the body of Osama bin Laden. Somehow all that rage never came to pass in his Violin and Handkerchief interview with friendly George Stephanopoulos on ABC.

Twitter provides a lot of this left-wing augmentation. Anyone who opposes abortion is a monster. Take, for example, writer Stephen King, who tweeted in September, “The Taliban will love the Texas abortion law.” There’s also Cher’s typical tweet screaming about “barefoot and pregnant, at the mercy of tyrants” — but all in all capital letters because Cher likes the primal screaming tone.

This nonsense sometimes appears in the late-night TV celebrity bubble. Representative Bradley Whitford insisted on CBS’ Stephen Colbert Show that Congress needs to pass Human Resources 1, a bill that would ban voter identification requirements and other anti-fraud measures. Without that, you know, he said to Colbert, I would see you in the concentration camp. He was not joking. “Negotiating with a party that worships disobedience feels really close to me than negotiating with terrorists.”

These leftists despise Fox News. “There is a fatal mistake with Fox News,” said screenwriter and director Aaron Sorkin, unlike CNN, MSNBC, or The New York Times. I realize there may be a liberal tone to it, but they’re not lying. They don’t make things up.” Dan Rather Didn’t Lie? Did New York Times Reporter Jason Blair Make Things Up?

Rock singer David Crosby exclaimed in an interview with The Daily Beast. Rupert Murdoch should be taken out and shot. The people on Fox do great harm to the human race,” he said.

Celebrities were thrilled that Biden would bring unity, rationality and civility into politics – because they are completely unable to do so.

Some celebrities have switched from rage to what sounded like drug-induced euphoria. Michael Moore offered a flawed summary of the Biden-era failed Afghanistan withdrawal: “I am still amazed that he accomplished this with such precision and safety.” This mysteriously ignored the 13 US service members killed in a suicide attack outside Kabul airport, and the erroneous drone attack in Kabul that killed 10 civilians, including an aid worker and seven children.

In a year of increasingly shameful corporate burglaries in major cities, millionaire “Sex and the City” actress (and losing political candidate) Cynthia Nixon is upset that she’s locked up laundry detergent in CVS drugstores. “I can’t imagine thinking that the way to solve the problem of people stealing basic necessities out of desperation is to prosecute them,” she wrote on Twitter.

Therefore, it is unreasonable (or unforgiving) to treat theft as a crime. Victims of merchants might suggest resolving this shameful disparity of wealth by volunteering Nixon’s title for a thorough house cleaning.

It’s celebrity buffs like these who maintain that the rich and famous actors in America can be nominated for an award “Most Likely to Look Out of Touch.”
