George Best’s son Calum designs ‘listening bench’ to encourage mental health conversations

The son of famous northern Irish footballer George Best has designed a “listening table” to try to get more people to talk about their mental health.

TV personality Calum Best led the East Belfast bench as a fitting tribute to his late father.

It’s part of ITV’s breakfast show Good Morning Britain, the award winning 1 Million Minutes to end loneliness.

The seat in honor of the Manchester United legend is located next to the East Side Visitor Center on Newtownards Road.

In a tweet, Callum wrote: “Had had the pleasure of creating #Listen on @itv in Belfast. I hope the design and idea will welcome people to sit down and share a conversation or listen to someone else. Please head down and watch the seat next to EastSideVC! #BestSeattoChat.”

Michelle Bryanz, CEO of the EastSide Partnership added: “I loved the new ITV #listeningbench designed by Tweet embed, a fitting tribute to his late father and local legend #GeorgeBest. Run along and look at the seat beside him Tweet embed! #BestSeattoChat. ”
