Bexar County receives $550k grant to improve mental health resources

San Antonio – John Cornyn’s office announced Wednesday that Bexar County will receive a $550,000 federal grant to help improve mental health resources.

The office said the resources are aimed at helping people with mental disorders get the help they need.

“It is critical that we make sure our mental health professionals are equipped to face the evolving challenges they face every day,” Senator Cornyn said. “I applaud this announcement and will continue to do everything in my power to make mental health in the San Antonio area an important priority.”

Not only does this target people with mental health issues, the office said, those with substance abuse and those with developmental disabilities were also part of the focus.
