If you enter the new year with a few health goals in mind, you are probably looking for ways to easily achieve these goals at the right time.
Your daily eating habits are a great place to start when it comes to healthy transitions in your life. And to help you figure out which habits you might want to skip this year, we spoke with two nutritionists for their input.

According to a registered dietitian Cindy Dallow, Ph.D., Ph.D.Skipping meals and ignoring your body’s natural hunger is actually one of the worst eating habits you can follow for your health.
“When you ignore hunger, your body will become hungrier for the next few hours, and the chances of overeating increase dramatically,” says Dallow, which is especially true if you are under any kind of stress (or tired), so it’s best to eat something. It satisfies your cravings and you eat it in a positive, intentional way and go on with your day.”

Dallow also warns that regular consumption of ultra-processed foods — which includes sugary cereals, packaged baked goods, candy, frozen pizza, and soda — can be harmful to your overall health.
“Processed foods usually have more than that [saturated] She says fats (the kind that clog arteries) and sodium are inflammatory components, so eating them regularly can seriously affect your health in a negative way.”
Eating healthy snacks can be a beneficial part of your day, especially because they can aid your metabolism and prevent you from overeating. However, it is important that you try to limit your “unhealthy” snacks such as chips, crackers and candy.
“Snacks that are high in sugar and sodium can actually lower your energy levels and have other negative side effects, such as weight gain.” Courtney D’Angelo, MS, RDD., an author on Go Wellness, “So the next time you’re on this hunger strike, try eating a healthy protein bar or make a protein shake because protein has many benefits to help you stay fuller for longer and lose weight.”

It’s hard to beat the convenience and affordability of fast food, especially on your busy days. But experts warn that visiting the car regularly can negatively affect your health.
“Many of the ingredients used in fast food are high in fat, sugar, and sodium,” says D’Angelo. For example, a Big Mac has 540 calories alone, then add french fries (220 calories) and a soft drink (another 220) and you Looking for a fast calorie intake of over 1000 calories. “
