Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has resigned from captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for his side’s home game against Southampton on Saturday due to a “disciplinary offense”.
“Unfortunately, due to a disciplinary offense,” Arteta said when asked why Aubameyang was not in the squad.
“I think we’ve been very consistent, there are non-negotiable things that we set as a club and I think we’ve been very consistent.”
When asked how long Aubameyang will be out, Arteta said: “It starts today.
Certainly it is not an easy situation and it is not the situation we want.”
