Angelina Jolie & Her Daughter Zahara’s Newest Pic Shines Light On This Ongoing Gender Issue

Angelina Jolie is her children’s mentor in more ways than one. Jolie has been helping her daughter Shiloh get into modeling, and now she is helping her daughter Zahra with political change. Specifically, Julie and Zahra decided to help bring about a change in the Violence Against Women Act.

On December 17, Jolie posted a series of photos with the caption that began, “I had the honor to visit Washington, D.C., with Zahra, working with advocates and lawmakers to update and promote #ViolenceAgainstWomenAct to include protecting the health and safety of children, communities of color, tribes, LGBT survivors, rural areas, and all survivors.” .

“We need reform including judicial training, trauma-informed court procedures that reduce the risk of harm to children, granting technology programs to detect bruises across all skin colors, establishing unbiased forensic evidence collection, and protections for the most vulnerable,” said the attorney and principal. .

She then closed on how to find out more, “To learn more about VAWA’s reauthorization and why not wait for Safety, visit: (link in bio), and encourage Senators to co-sponsor and support #VAWA4ALL.”

Violence against women is a serious international issue, with the World Health Organization finding that nearly one in three, or 30%, of women, have experienced violence by either an intimate partner or a non-partner.

It’s great that the top list creators are bringing awareness of these issues into the mainstream and, in Julie’s case, actually being on the sidelines, working toward more positive change.

In 2018 with the BBC, Jolie spoke about the transition into politics, saying, “Honestly I’m going to do whatever I think can really make a difference.” Since 2001, she has been on more than 60 assignments with the UN Refugee Agency, is a UN Children’s Ambassador, and has co-wrote a children’s book on knowledge of their human rights – just to name a few.

It’s also amazing to have a flower join in. Perhaps she will enter politics like her mother? We can’t wait to see.
